Directional Thoughts

Came home from school to do the Freshly Made Sketches  and the Colour Me…! Challenges.  Gotta admit - blue and orange are not my favourites - but I like how this turned out.

I used a brayer to colour the inside of my chevron embossing folder before embossing the paper.  I also used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to get the little squares lined up on the blue piece.

Absolutely loving the melting snow, the fresh air, the late light night sky….I know it still can snow before the May long weekend - but the end is in sight and it looks good.

Language of Love Mashup

Took time to do the Friday Mashup this morning before getting some more prep work done on the upcoming Teacher's Convention.

The Mashup this week was:
  1. Create a project using the Colors "Coastal Cabana, Real Red & Crumb Cake."
  2. Create a project using "Hearts & Arrows. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project using "the above colors along with Hearts & Arrows."

I pulled out the Language of Love set I received at Leadership  and combined it with the arrow from the Label Card Thinlits.  The Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon was easy to stamp on using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, which helped to keep the ribbon in place while I stamped.

It's a sunny day here and the temperatures are suppose to be above zero - so I suppose I'll go out and try to chip more packed snow off of the driveway….as well as doing more stamping, prepping, and arting.

Hope you have an enjoyably full day!

    Elliot's Birthday Card

I created this card for my grandson's birthday party today - he will be turning 2 on Wednesday.  To create the greeting I wanted in the word bubble, I inked up the words on two different stamps from the "Just Sayin'" set and used the Stamp-a-ma-Jig to line them up.  The number 2 is from the retired Timeless Type JR. Sizzlits set.

The card was made to match the cake his mom made him -

Hope you are having a wonderful day - stay warm as best you can if you're in my neck of the woods!

    Hello My Friend

Hello....welcome to a colour challenge day at Sunday Stamps.  I have to admit - I did find this one challenging.  I don't go to red very often and I even rarely go to pink.....so having them together was a challenge.  That's the fun thing about all the various challenge blogs, they sometimes force you outside of your comfort zone - and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I've used three different stamps sets for this one - Tape It, Six-Sided Sampler, and My Friend.  I also have to admit that I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement of the tapes on this one.  Usually I don't care where they land, but this time round I wanted them to a least try to be straight.

I'm looking forward to Sunday Family Dinner tonight, the kids have been gone camping and I'm excited to see them - and hear all the new things Elliot was able to explore.
He went for his first canoe ride....I love how you can just barely see the little person sitting in the front by his mom.

Hope you have a wonderful day.  Thanks for stopping by.

    You're Amazing - Thank You

This little medallion from the sneak peak "A Round Array" set has got to be my favourite stamp right now.  I keep reaching for it in my projects.
Today's card uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I've flipped it on it's side and only added the one square of Floral District DSP.

I've started keeping the base piece that the stamps come in so that once I've attached the label to the stamp, I put them back into the base.

I'm mentioning this because I used the base piece for the  "You're Amazing" stamp to trace around my stamped image so that I could cut it out evenly around the whole image.
    Here's the sketch...

Gotta Run - it's a professional development day today - and I'd best be on my way.

    Hooray Elephant

I was playing with this little elephant in preparation for the weekend - I used the wrong colour - so created this card so she didn't get wasted!  The stamp set is called "Henry Says" so I guess today her name is Henrietta!
I am loving these little flowers!  They are so easy to colour with a sponge dauber to match whatever is happening on your creation.

Our little friend is on Razzleberry hills - which means she is no where near where I live 'cause the snow just keeps coming down.  Ah well - it will disappear eventually.

Hope you're having a marvelous day!

    Sunday Stamps Affection Collection

I'm so sorry this posting is late - I was in an area that was not computer friendly this weekend and then forgot about things what with Sunday Family dinner last night.  So I apologize!

This weeks' Sunday Stamps are my  choice of colours this week - Gumball Green, Marina Mist and Soft Suede.  When I picked them for the challenge I was thinking fall - but then my card turned into a card for my husband.  I'll be giving it to him next week for our anniversary.

I used the Affection Collection set for my creation - using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get all the "Love" lined up on the Soft Suede piece.  I also enjoy that linen ribbon for stamping on!

Give these colours a whirl - the girls on the Design Team have some fabulous creations to inspire you! Don't forget to link your creation to the Sunday Stamps Challenge blog so we can take a peak at it.  You may be selected as a Guest Designer.

I can't believe it's October now, and with the things I've written down on the calendar I can tell this month is going to fly by!  Thanks for stopping by!
