A Little Christmas in the Air

Today I've been playing with some Christmas goodies in preparation for my Creative Retreat.  We will be stamping Christmas Cards in the afternoon.
The first card uses the Seasonal Wreath DynamicTextured Impressioins embossing folder.  I also absolutely love the little red rhinestones that are available.  I've used them on every Christmas card for the retreat.
I'm glad that the Pretty Pines Thinlits carried over to the new catalog.  They help by giving you a variety of themes in your Christmas cards.  The pine cones are fussy cut from a sheet of the Designer Series Paper.
This Mistletoe Season is a new set in the catalogue.  I like the two step stamping bow: you get the two tones by stamping off some of the colour for the body of the bow.
This Blended Seasons set is really new.  It's not even in the catalogue, so we'll hope to see it in the future.  Of course, the holly berries are rhinestons!  Lots of shiny bling.

If you want more information about my Creative Retreat you can see it HERE , or contact me and I'll help you with whatever questioins you have.

Thanks for stopping by,
Joan

Tea Time

I'm starting to prepare the projects for my Creative Retreat in August....details in the next post.  During the morning stamping class we will be using pieces from the Tea Room Suite: Stamp set, Framelit dies, ribbon and DSP.  I like these little doily pieces from the framelits dies - they are quite versatile.  I also like how Stampin'Up! has gotten intricate on some of their dies to add to the details of the piece: like the little hole cut out where the teacup handle.
For the above card, I fussy cut some of the DSP to get the little floral arrangement.
For two of the cards I took images from the "Big Wishes" set.  The candles are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and coloured in the coordinating colours from the DSP for this Suite.  This sample shows the verstility of the doilies in the framelits set.  I cut it in half to make it appear as though it is bigger than the oval.
The coordinating DSP for this suite is so delicate.  Reminiscent of Grandma's tea cups.  This time I've used the smaller doily to hold the sentiment, cut out some stamped flowers and used the butterfly from the "Springtime Impressions thinlits.
This is the fourth card that will be included in the Creative Retreat....along with the above three.
This final card was created because I put the "wrong" DSP on the envelope - so I had to make a matching card.  I've added an embellishment to the little doily from the "Tea Room Copper Vinyl Stickers" and put some Copper Thread behind it.

With the products that are included in the goodie bag for the retreat, there enough yardstick and DSP to create 7 more cards.

That's it for now.  Thanks for stopping by,
Joan.

Happy Little Mistakes

I was playing around with the new embossing powder in the new In-Colours a couple of weeks ago and made a happy little mistake on one of the cards. It ended up taking some patience to get all the different colours on in the same sort of spread out fashion, but it was worth it in the end.

This is what each card in this series was suppose to look like - but variety is good.

To add to the variety, I decided to use the thinlit that co-ordinates with this stamp set.  The Framelit die set includes the little candle, flame and the piece that makes the little diamonds along the top.

I continued playing with the Framelits and pulled out the DSP that goes along with this Broadway Bound Suite.
I love this Broadway Marquee included in the Framelits.  Rhinestones or pearls can be used for lights around the edges.
The last creation was a birthday card to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday.   The numbers were cut out of one of the sheets of DSP which is covered in numbers, so you can create whatever age of birthday card you need.  This set and paper would be great for teens.
