VIP boxes

I have been quite busy this past month and the highlight of the month was celebrating my 13th year with Stampin'Up! with some of my VIP customers.

I served them a chilli dinner and then they stamped two cards.  Once they were finished with their cards they settled in to enjoying some hot apple crisp.

Each attendee also left with a small little gift from me, which is shown up above.
Now it's on to a busy October

Hope you are well in your neck of the woods.
Thanks for visiting.

Skating Snowman

Tonight we are having a card swap at my Team Meeting so I thought I'd share my card with you today.  The one I made multiples of is the one on the left.  I played around with making the ice blue, but didn't like the effect too much.  On both cards I added some Glimmer Paint to the ice and the snowman to make them sparkle just a bit.

I'm getting ready for a special event this month, so this is going to be a short post.  Hope life is well your way.  Thanks for stopping by.

Country Milk Jugs

I have four of my Grandma's old milk cans and one of her milk jugs that are very precious to me.  So when I saw the tin and jug in the "Country Home" stamp set, I knew I would be adding it to my collection.  I also love the little cotton plants included in the DSP and in one of the floral stamps.

One of my favourite items in the Country Lane Suite is the Tin Tile embossing folder.  It is one of our Dynamic Textured impressions folders, so the embossing is very detailed.  I CASEd this card from someone on pinterest.  I loved the monochromatic look to it and the way the cotton was coloured in.  I used on of our Chalk Markers to colour mine.

This suite also includes some Galvanized Metallic paper. Paired with  the Tin Tile embossing folder it's reminiscent of tin tiles on walls and ceilings in the past.
Here is a video from Stampin'Up! to show you  how versatile this embossing folder.

That's it for now.  Have a fantastic day.

Country Duo

This is the card that was created Friday night at my open house - well, actually the one on the right hand side.
I love to distress paper.  Either with ink or with tearing.  The main features of the card remained the same.  All that changed were the embellishments and distressing.
On the left hand card I used silver metallic thread behind the focal piece - which you can't notice in the photo.
The right hand card has the torn edges, a different ribbon and the greeting is left square to the card.
Something about tearing paper.  Did you know that paper has a grain just like fabric?  That's why it is easier to tear paper in one direction than in the other.  Taking smaller tears against the grain makes it easier to match  your tearing all the way around.  Also, for a more feathered edge, tear the paper toward you; then you can see the layers of paper and if you add ink to the edges they will stand out more.

That's all for today.  Two different looks for the same card.  Leave a comment to let me know which one you prefer.
Come back tomorrow to see more cards created with this Country Home Stamp Set.
