The LIfe You Imagined

What a fabulous colour combination we have today at Sunday Stamps.  I don't use purple very often, and I certainly wouldn't go to Turquoise  as a combination - but I absolutely love this combo.  It can be worked into either a masculine or feminine card.  Today, I've opted for the masculine touch...I think.

The background was created with the coral form "By the Tide" and I stamped and fussy cut the shells.  Two of them have had the ink stamped off, but your can't really tell.  The greeting is from "Really Good Greetings".  They are all sort of whimsical - fun to use.
I used a bit of the new In Colour - Baked Brown Sugar stretch ruffle trim.

Hope you have fun creating with this combo!  Check out the inspiring projects by the rest of the Design Team at the Sunday Stamps  Blog -  And don't forget to leave a link so we can check in to see what you've designed.

Thanks for stopping by!

Really all about YOU

Hey, Hey, Hey - it's summer vacation!  I'm still busy getting ready to head on holiday - but I've got a card to share for our Sunday Stamps Challenge.  I decided to use Pacific Point as my blue....something I rarely reach for - I like it with this combination - helps things pop off the page a bit.  The layers of the cake have been popped up with dimensionals too - although it's hard to tell in the photo.

Check out what the rest of the Design Team has come up with......there is a wonderful variety to get you inspired.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend - and safe travels to anyone heading out on vacation.

Medallion Congrats

Good Day everyone - and welcome to an awesome colour combination today at Sunday Stamps.  I wouldn't have naturally gone for these colours, but I really enjoyed using them together.

I used the Daydream Medallions set - I've hardly touched it since last years' convention - wish I had used it more.  I combined it with the congratulations from Layered Labels and used the markers to colour the sections the way I wanted.
Rhinestones, of course, finish everything off.

Give the challenge a try, and link your creation back to the Sunday Stamps website - we love seeing your interpretations.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you have a marvelous day!

Hooray Elephant

I was playing with this little elephant in preparation for the weekend - I used the wrong colour - so created this card so she didn't get wasted!  The stamp set is called "Henry Says" so I guess today her name is Henrietta!
I am loving these little flowers!  They are so easy to colour with a sponge dauber to match whatever is happening on your creation.

Our little friend is on Razzleberry hills - which means she is no where near where I live 'cause the snow just keeps coming down.  Ah well - it will disappear eventually.

Hope you're having a marvelous day!

Cherry on Top Mashup

Just a quick post tonight to catch up with things.  I had this card made up for the Friday MashUp!, but I missed the link deadline.  The challenge was to create a birthday card which included brads.

I used some of the Delicate Details Lace Tape - wow, was it fun to work with.  Stampin'Up! could come out with more of this!  I also liked being able to use some of my brads - I have quite a few, but I forget to use them.

I'm off to finish a couple more things before the night is done.
Hope your day has been productive.
Thanks for stopping by.

Canada Day Sunday Stamp Duo

HAPPY CANADA DAY!
We'll be having a busy day here today - Pancake Breakfast, Trivia Questions before the Parade, Lunch and fun and games at my Canamaniac friend Amy's house.  It will be Elliot's first Canada Day, so we're looking forward to spending the whole day with him too!  Don't think we'll be going to the fireworks though since we have to be on a plane at 1:00am tomorrow morning.  WooooHoooo!

AND it's also
Sunday Stamps!

It's a sketch day at Sunday Stamps - and it's a perfect sketch if you're needing to make a card in a pinch.  Any shape could be used where the circle is  - and that's exactly how this card duo ended up being created.
I had initially created the card with the sail boat - a week ago when I knew I needed to get some of my challenges done ahead of time before travelling on holidays.  Then I realized that this post would go live on Canada Day - so I turned around and created a second card, which you see above, using today's holiday as a theme;   proving that any shape can be used where the circle is in the sketch!

The two bands across the middle of the sketch provide a lot of room for creativity and for this sail boat I chose to use fibers for both - I'm loving the new stitched ribbon for the new In Colours....and the twine is a wee bit nautical.
Here's the sketch for you to go by and for more inspiration, be sure to stop by the Sunday Stamps Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team came up with this week.  Be sure to link your project back to Sunday Stamps so we can see what you've created.

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians.
Have a safe and fun celebration!

Biking with my Friend

I'm so excited.....there's a new challenge blog and I've been asked to be on the design team...I was absolutely thrilled to be invited.  The blog is Sunday Stamps and the creator is the talented Holly Endress from HollyBeary Creations.  Each week will alternate between sketch and colour challenges....which are two of my favourite challenges to do!

Here is this week's sketch challenge.  I love it 'cause you can incorporate a lot of different shapes....although I stuck with circles for today.

For my creation I've pulled out some more new toys.  I'm loving the "Finishing Touches Edgelit".  I like punches - but these edgeless are SOOOO much easier and remove the need to line up holes.  I've also used one of the doilies from the "Delicate Doilies Sizzlit".  The base of the card has been embossed with the new Argyle Folder.

I used the marker right on the bike from "Moving Forward".  Because the sentiment was at the bottom of the stamp I didn't add one with a tag - so I added a bow instead.  Like I said - it's a sketch you can tweak in a number of ways.

Try it out and link your creation to Sunday Stamps - and see what the other members of the design team  have created for inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by - Hope you're having a great start to your week.

And We're Done....

I must say that after a productive morning/afternoon - the afternoon/evening took a tailspin and I'm done!  After I'm done posting here, I'm going to hunker down with a bowl of popcorn and watch some mindless television....which I rarely do.  Better find a good movie I guess.

Today's card is courtesy of the Friday Mash-Up!  I so look forward to these to see what the combination is going to be...
  • Create a card with buttons OR
  • Create a card with cupcakes OR
  • Create a card with buttons and cupcakes.
I so rarely use this cupcake die for the Big Shot I thought I'd pull it out for this challenge.  The colours are from Just Add Ink - Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait, Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla.

For the icing on the cupcake I used the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and then added some of the new Dazzling Details to the ridges.  I did put the cupcake holder through the crimper, but after squooshing it to get the sticky tape to stick, the ridges disappeared a little.

The card is good - I'm happy with it, I just need to sit and not move for a while, because I can't seem to just do one thing alone this evening.  I went upstairs after finishing this card and somehow proceeded to clean out the sideboard, and a china cupboard, and iron  (yes I said IRON) some linen napkins.  That's after repotting a whole whack of house plants earlier.

Sheeesh - I need school to start soon !!!!  Hope your evening/day is restful!  Thanks for dropping by!
