Fly Butterfly

We have a sketch for you today over at Sunday Stamps - and I love it.
This simple layout is a standard when I do my Trade Fairs for the Make and Takes - although I do not have any of the embellishments added for those events.  Simply stamp and go.
So - because I'm preparing for the Fort Trade Fair, I had an extra little matt piece on my desk and used it for this card.  I love the Creative Elements set - that background stamp is so pretty.

There are lots of inspirational ideas over on the Challenge Blog - hope you join us.  This challenge is open until May 2, so there's lots of time to create and we'd love you to share with us.

Finally - Happy Easter Blessings to everyone.
He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!

Hexagon Hello

I'm not sure why I've focused on the Baked Brown Sugar with this creation - but that's the direction it went in.  You must check in on the challenge blog to see the rest of the Design Team's creations.  Fabulous inspiration can be found!  (As always!!!)

Be sure to link your own creation back to the challenge blog so we can take a peak.

Oh Baby!

Marie has a fun sketch for us today over at Sunday Stamps, and the design team members have some fabulous projects for inspiration!
I decided to create a baby card with this one - I just love the little shoes that are included in this set….and the little bunny is so so sweet.  I can't wait until we get the new Blendabilities markers so I can do a better job of shading things in.

Hope you are having a super Sunday and that you find some time to play with us at Sunday Stamps.  Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great day - Joan

Happy Birthday Coffee

We have some happy "spring like" colours for you over at Sunday Stamps today…Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzaz, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.
For today's card, I masked the coffee cups - although once I was looking at the photograph I realized that some of my paper piecing doesn't match my masking - which just proves you shouldn't always craft with a head cold…..
I also did some literal masking on the letters for each cup.  I took the "Happy" from the Countless Sayings 2 Photopolymer set.  I taped off the letters that I didn't want in order to put a single letter on each cup.  Once they were stamped I highlighted them by colouring them in with marker.
Finally, I stamped the "Birthday" onto our Natural Trim - since this word was also from the Countless Sayings set (so it was a photopolymer piece), I was able to see the ribbon easily and where I was stamping.

I hope you join us this week for this challenge.  Link your creation back to the Sunday Stamps challenge blog.  We love to see your projects!

Have a fabulous Sunday.
Thanks for dropping by,
Joan

I'm also really liking the new Just Sayin' set with the co-ordinating framelits!

Three Cheers for You!

WooHoo - it's the last Sunday Stamps of the year….so hard to believe.  It's a wonderful sketch with so many possibilities for the shapes.

I've pulled out the new "Just Sayin'" set again with the coordinting framelits, and matched it with the Happy Hour set.  I like the new Arrows embossing folder too.

Here's the sketch

Be sure to link your creation to the Sunday Stamps Challenge Blog - we love seeing what you've created.

Vellum Noel

Welcome to the first day of December and a wonderful sketch from Hayley at Sunday Stamps.

I found this card quick to put together with the bits and pieces I had left over from the card camps I've been holding.  Each of the pieces from this card come from leftovers on my craft table - all I had to do was emboss the background, stamp the Noel, and cut out the poinsettia.  I've raised the square piece a bit because of the large flower.

I do like to do that sometimes - pull "scraps" off my desk or out of my drawer and use them.  Try out the sketch and let us see your creation by linking it back to the Sunday Stamps blog.  We have an array of fabulous inspiration from the Design Team.

The count down is now on - Christmas Concerts, shopping, decorating and celebrating.
Hope your December is off to a good start.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Splatter of Thanks

It's a colour day at Sunday Stamps and today's colours could be Sesaonal ....or not.  I've chosen to use them for a Thank You card, which I've created on MDS since I'm away from my craft room for this challenge.   I love our splatter option on MDS - no mess and a range of sizes and shapes!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has come up with this week.  Remember, this challenge is open for two weeks...so you'll have until November 29 to post your creation to the Sunday Stamps Challenge Blog.  Have fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely Eastern Elegance

Happy Sunday Stamps......Kathya has a wonderful sketch for us today - I love the horizontal banners she's got us using!
I decided to move away from seasonal colours for this sketch - I've been so busy getting ready for Holiday classes that I felt I needed to change the pace up a bit.

I'm not really a yellow person, and I'm not really a grey person - but I do love the Eastern Elegance DSP!  I was pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous effects of embossing the image from Lovely Romance - It's just so elegant - although I guess the shiny silver embossing doesn't really come through in the photo.

Here is Kathya's sketch - be sure to check out the Sunday Stamps Blog too - the design team has come up with some wonderfully inspirational pieces - I'm so lucky to be working with such a talented group of women!  Once you've created your project, be sure to share it with us so we can take a peak.

Hope your day is going well - thanks for visiting.

Humungous Thanks

Welcome to a colour challenge day at Sunday Stamps.  Today's colour combo is Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Teal...I used Bermuda Bay.

I had a lot of fun using this humungous Thank You from the "Another Thank You" set.  I used the Chevron Punch and then filled in two of the sections with colour.  You can't tell in the photo, but the Bermuda Bay pieces are raised up with dimensionals.

Be sure to check out the challenge blog to see the inspiring creations from the Design Team.  And remember to link your project back to us so we can visit and take a peak.

Have fun!

Cake & Balloons

It's a fun sketch day at Sunday Stamps today - I love the little wave that Marie has added.
I decided to use the "Sketched Birthday" set - I love these images....especially the sketchiness of them!  I love being able to use a number of images from one set on one card....makes is a savy purchase!

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday and that you'll be able to participate in the challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by,

Pistachio Coral Happiness

It's a colour day at Sunday Stamps today and it's like we're trying to have one last taste of summer colours before covering up with warm fall hues.  Our colours today are  Mint/Aqua, Coral and Gold and I've used Pistacchio Pudding, Calypso Coral and our new Gold Foil Sheet Paper.  I love this gold paper because it's rich but not too blingy.

The card I've created for this challenge was created early enough to use for my one of my techniques this month.  I've used the Secret Garden stamp set and did the Versa Mark Resist technique.  The greeting is from Yippee Skippee.

I had a bit of a mistake when I was creating this - I put the edglit die down on my finished paper - thinking to have a white scalloped edge.  Instead it cut the edge off and I ended up with a different "scalloped" edge.....That's why the gold Finishing Touch got added - and it worked perfectly.  I love when your mistakes work out.

I hope you have a wonderfully creative Sunday - we are heading to War Horse tonight and I'm thoroughly looking forward to it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Yippee Skippee Monkeys!

Yipee Skippee it's a new sketch for Sunday Stamps brought to you by Steph!  I'm lovin' these little animals from the Zoo Babies stamp set!  They're just so  cute....so I thought this little monkey would be pleased to help someone celebrate something they're happy about!

Here is the sketch from Steph - you really need to check out the other creations by the rest of the Design Team!  They're awesome - as usual!  Remember to link your project back to the Sunday Stamps  Challenge Blog so we can all take a peek at your creation!

I still have room at my Technique Class this week if you're wanting to stop by to create two cards using the Versa Mark Resist and Joseph's Coat Techniques.

I'm happy we had a fantastic first week at school and I'm gearing up for the next full week.....ooops - actually it's another short week for me because I head to Banff with Greg Thursday afternoon.  LOL!
Hope you have something to look forward to this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello My Friend

Hello....welcome to a colour challenge day at Sunday Stamps.  I have to admit - I did find this one challenging.  I don't go to red very often and I even rarely go to pink.....so having them together was a challenge.  That's the fun thing about all the various challenge blogs, they sometimes force you outside of your comfort zone - and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I've used three different stamps sets for this one - Tape It, Six-Sided Sampler, and My Friend.  I also have to admit that I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement of the tapes on this one.  Usually I don't care where they land, but this time round I wanted them to a least try to be straight.

I'm looking forward to Sunday Family Dinner tonight, the kids have been gone camping and I'm excited to see them - and hear all the new things Elliot was able to explore.
He went for his first canoe ride....I love how you can just barely see the little person sitting in the front by his mom.

Hope you have a wonderful day.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hexagonal Thanks

Welcome to today's sketch at Sunday Stamps.  It's a fairly clean, simple and straightforward sketch that can go in any number of directions.  I had fun looking through the creations from the design team and am honoured to be working with such creative women!  Be sure  to check out their creations on the challenge blog.

I chose to use hexagons instead of circles - wanted to try out the new Six-Sided Sampler set.  With that I incorporated a number of the other hexagonal products that we have - the punch, the embossing folder and the bit of washi tape.  Fun, fun, fun.

Here is the original sketch...

Take it in whatever direction your creativity leads you - I look forward to seeing your projects when you link them to Sunday Stamps.

Thanks for dropping by today - Joan

The LIfe You Imagined

What a fabulous colour combination we have today at Sunday Stamps.  I don't use purple very often, and I certainly wouldn't go to Turquoise  as a combination - but I absolutely love this combo.  It can be worked into either a masculine or feminine card.  Today, I've opted for the masculine touch...I think.

The background was created with the coral form "By the Tide" and I stamped and fussy cut the shells.  Two of them have had the ink stamped off, but your can't really tell.  The greeting is from "Really Good Greetings".  They are all sort of whimsical - fun to use.
I used a bit of the new In Colour - Baked Brown Sugar stretch ruffle trim.

Hope you have fun creating with this combo!  Check out the inspiring projects by the rest of the Design Team at the Sunday Stamps  Blog -  And don't forget to leave a link so we can check in to see what you've designed.

Thanks for stopping by!

Triple Thanks So Much

Bonjour-Hello.......Happy Sunday Stamps.  You've got to excuse me today - I'm currently in Ottawa, and you hear just about as much French here as English.
Hayley has a great sketch for us this week - I love the little string of banners.....and I love how our design team members have interpreted the sketch in a variety of ways....so be sure you check out the blog for inspiration.

I created this card before I left home for holidays - I used a piece that I had thought of using for another card, but set aside.  Ya gotta keep those little "bloopers" - because they end up being useful in the end.  I used watercolour paper for the base of the focal piece - which is how I created the aged/distressed edge.

I've been having a fantastic holiday - and one memorable highlight will be the evening I met two members of Design Teams while in Ottawa.  Hayley (from Sunday Stamps) and Tara (from MDS Monday) met me for dinner at the Baton Rouge and it was like we were getting together as old friends instead of meeting as cyber friends for the first time.  Good food, good laughs, good memories, new friends.  I had a outstanding time and I look forward to getting together with these ladies again in the future!!!

I hope you are having some memorable times this summer.
Thanks for stopping by here for a wee visit.

Really all about YOU

Hey, Hey, Hey - it's summer vacation!  I'm still busy getting ready to head on holiday - but I've got a card to share for our Sunday Stamps Challenge.  I decided to use Pacific Point as my blue....something I rarely reach for - I like it with this combination - helps things pop off the page a bit.  The layers of the cake have been popped up with dimensionals too - although it's hard to tell in the photo.

Check out what the rest of the Design Team has come up with......there is a wonderful variety to get you inspired.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend - and safe travels to anyone heading out on vacation.
Thanks for stopping by -
