Grungy Valentine

Today I joined the Dynamic Duos and Paper Players Challenges. I have a bit of a hard time with single layer cards - but that's why doing challenges is a good thing - they make you work out of your comfort zone from time to time.
I also thought it was time to see what the grunge look was like using subtle colours.  Not too bad, I think.

Hope your day is working out your way!  Thanks for taking time to stop by.
Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what we have for you from MDS Monday.

Yippee-Skippee Monster

It's a bright and beautiful day today - but it's freeeeeezing outside!  So it's a good day to craft - even though it's subsequently freezing in my basement stamp room too!  But I found some challenges to complete - so it's all good.

I chose the colours from the Dynamic Duos and the sketch is from Mojo Monday.  I hadn't used these adorable little monsters from Monstermaniacs yet - so it was time to put them together and add some ink.  I hadn't coloured in a stamp in AGES - so it was good to pull out a blended pen to colour too!  For his little antenna I coloured two basic pearls with a black sharpie.

Now off to another project…..hope you are keeping warm and busy today  Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Good Thoughts...

I got my order of new products yesterday - I'm loving a number of new things in the upcoming Occasions Catalogue - and the Sale-a-bration products are fun too!

While playing with new stuff I even got a challenge done!  First one in weeks!  I worked on Dynamic Duo's Black Tie Week.  I had these crinkled up flowers on my desk for literally months - so I jumped at the chance of putting them onto a card.

I've used the Perfect Pennants stamp set with the new Banners Framelits Die.  Oh I'm glad they've added these framelits to the mix!

Well, I hope that you have a blessed Christmas Eve.  I'm looking forward to singing in a church choir again this year for Christmas Eve!  It's been a while.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Wahoo! Pumpkin

I put my Paper Pumpkin cards....from last month.....together today.  I started out making the prototype and then moved on to create other designs using up some bits and pieces I have left over from previous Paper Pumpkins.  Fun, fun, fun!

Using a marker to "divide" the greeting stamp.

Using the "Banner Poles" from a couple of months ago as a perch for the little owl.  I'm using this card today for both the Dynamic Duos Challenge - using Basic Black and Tangerine Tango; and for the My Paper Pumpkin Challenge to use owls and/or textures.
I used the new ornament punch to create the speech bubble for the little owl by carving it up a bit.

I've got a number of things accomplished today so far - still have a few things to get crossed off my "To Do" list.
Hope you are having a satisfying day.  Thanks for visiting for a bit!

Flower Shop Trio and Christmas Stack

Today's card features one of the flowers from the Flower Shop set - I love all the designs and it's great having the matching punch!  I've used the Dynamic Duos colours - Daffodil Delight and Strawberry Slush.  I added the bit of Strawberry Slush ribbon to help perk things up a bit.  I've noticed I haven't been doing much distressing lately - Hmmm.
This is a pretty clean and simple card that would be easy to do for card classes.

I am holding my Christmas in August Stack on Thursday.  Here are the cards we're going to be doing...

I have some of the new Christmas stuff now - so the October and November stacks will include some more of the products from the Holiday Catalogue.

I'm off to continue getting ready for Thursday.  Hope you have a terrific Tuesday.  Thanks for dropping by...Joan

Baja Mosaic

Oh what a wonderful sunny day today - I'm finishing up this post and then heading outside to do a bit of spring tidying up.
Today I combined the Dynamic Duo colour challenge with the Just Add Ink Sketch while playing with some of the new products that will be available in the new catalogue as of May 31.
Gotta Love New Toys!
Hope your day is sunny and bright - thanks for dropping by.

Embossing & Dancing

No - I wasn't dancing while embossing today.  In fact, I was pretty close, on a number of occasions today, to just stop what I was doing and walk away.  I'd be nearly finished something and then there would be a smudge or smear.  I'm shutting the craft room down for the night after this post.

So, here is my first majorly embossed creation using the Dynamic Duos colours - Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.   I had a couple of the dry embossed pieces left over from a class. I embossed the Pleasant Poppies on velum with black embossing powder and then coloured in the flowers and stems.

Next is the page for 31 Pages in 31 Days.  I did not keep to Lyssa's colour example today - and I added a circle and flipped the "sketch".  I've had these dance pictures cut and tucked away on my craft table since LAST summer!  When I saw the circles on Lyssa's example today, I decided that it was high time I got something done with them.  I still fought with it, but I think I won in the end.....up until I smudged some of the silver Dazzling Details....and then rectified the situation.

I had fun babysitting Elliot last night.  He spent a good half hour gnawing on his toys.  I just sat and took pictures....poor little guy.  I love the intent look on his face in some of them....here are just a couple to share.

And I'm off - I won't be posting a card tomorrow for Sunday Stamps as our fearless leader is in the midst of moving....but we will be back.  I will most likely post a scrapbook page tomorrow....then I'm headed to Banff for a couple of days.

Hope you've had a day free of smudges and smears!!!
Thanks for visiting.

Sweet Gingerbread

My craft room smells like sugar and spice this morning after working with these little guys!  YUM!  The gingerbread men are from the Scentsational Season set in the upcoming Holiday Mini along with co-ordinating framelit dies.
I've used the colours from Dynamic Duos today - Crumb Cake and Early Espresso (Wow - it's a food sort of day I guess!)

The base of the card is Very Vanilla with an Early Espresso Mat.  The embossed section is the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Can you tell I'm getting ready for an Open House to showcase items from the new Mini?!

It's cool, overcast and thundering today (no rain yet) - so maybe I will bake the cookies I promised my daughter a day or two ago.  It was way too hot to turn on the oven then.

I've been meaning to share this video of this year's theme song from convention.  I love this song - I play it almost every day just to boost me up for crafting.

Hope your day has aromas which make you smile.  Thanks for visiting.

Postage En Francais

I got up with the birds this morning - my eyes popped open at 6:15 and would not stay shut no matter how hard I tried - so I got up and finished the days' challenge post before 9:00.  Which I guess indicates that it took me about 2.5 hours to create this card.

I had tried some emboss resist for the central piece - but that didn't work at all...not Artichoke enough.  I've combined Postage Due and Artistic Etchings for the centre piece.  I love the Postage Due set since I've always had a love for stamps.

The challenges incorporated in todays card are - Dynamic Duos - using River Rock and Always Artichoke.  The camera didn't pick up the River Rock very well; it looks more Crumb Cake!
The sketch is from Splitcoast for this week.

It's a gorgeous Saturday, and since my side of the garage is empty because my son borrowed the van to take the family camping - I just may clean the garage.  It's an annual job that I hate doing, but am always satisfied with when I'm finished.

Hope you get something finished satisfactorily today.  Thanks for stopping by here for a visit.
