Today's card is totally cased except for the embossed background, the greeting and the number 30. I saw the card, fell in love with it and thought it would be perfect for my daughter's 30th birthday, which is today. Her favourite colour is pink (I've used Rococo Rose) and she loves bling. I cased the card from Karen Henderson at Furry Cat Designs. I like a lot of her cards!
For the background I've used the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder. The butterflies all come from the Brilliant Wings dies. Their bodies are from retired strings of Rhinestones. I still have a bunch of these strings and they work perfectly for insects. All of the butterflies have been popped up with dimensionals.
The Playful Alphabet dies had the perfect sized numbers for tucking the 30 into the corner.
The Birthday Wishes stamp is from the Itty Bitty Birthday sets which is retiring at the end of this month. (Everything else on the card is carrying over into the new Catalogue.) I actually used the new Messages Dies to get the label. I didn't take the chance of placing the stamp perfectly on the label, so I stamped the greeting onto a small piece of cardstock, centered it under the label I wanted and adhered it with a piece of washi tape. That way, when I put it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, it wouldn't move around. Viola! It worked perfectly.
That's it for today - I'll just share a picture of the birthday girl before I go.
Thanks for dropping by - Joan
