Traditional Grunge

Had a good day at school today - came home to do the Merry Monday Challenge - and I'm not quite sure what to think.  It makes me think of "Traditional meets Grunge" somehow.
The challenge was to use Chocolate Chip, Green (Old Olive) Gold and White.

I tried embossing the Christmas Tree onto the gold striped velum….be careful because the heat does affect the gold - and the ink doesn't stick to the gold.  However, because I put clear embossing powder onto the ink right away, the image showed up a bit.
Next I decided to add the wonderful gold washi tape - which lead to stamping some washi tape.  I decided to use the Christmas tickets because they were less traditional.  And finally, I threw on some pearls.  I actually tried to emboss them with gold embossing powder, but it just peeled off.  I like the clean look of the white pearls though - so……it is completely not my style - but I'm embracing it as a good try!  (And in the process of posting this, and looking at the card more often, it's grown one me!)

Ya can't get down when the sun is shining until 8:30 at night and the snow is melting!  WoooHooo!
Have a good one!
Joan

I think it turned out pretty cool how your tree is just peeking out from behind the gold stripes. Sometimes "accidents" are just as fun as what you intend! So glad you're playing along this week at Merry Monday!
