20 cards and then kicked up a notch
I made this set of 20 cards using the "Best Ever Simply Scrappin' Kit at one of Tamye & Lori's fantastic Stampin' Extraveganzas. I decided to try them again and kick them up a notch or two....which is what the second photo is. On some of them I guess you can't really tell - but brads, rhinestones and ribbon were added to a number of the cards plus extra stars.
Today I took an old Simply Scrappin' Kit that I hadn't used (am I the only one who does that???) I used the same cutting layout and have ended up with 25 cards. I just want to add some sentiments because none came with the kit and then I'll share them - hopefully tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!

Easing down an old road
Well, thirty some odd years ago.......four young ladies went to see "The Wiz" in downtown Chicago.
Wow! I'm trying to use some of the scrapbook layouts I'm doing with old pictures I have. I'm not sure that the flowers go with "The Wiz" theme....but the colours were okay. I was trying out the butterfly layout I used a couple of weeks ago with the daisy die for the big shot. So now I'm hoping Stampin' Up gets more dies that can be used like this. The time for a new catalogue is fast approaching!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Lucky Seven
The Vegas inspiration for this card was the Lucky Number 7. Whatever embellishment was used...there had to be 7 of them.
I used Chocolate Chip Craft ink on the velum so that it would show up better. The bottom layer is embossed in white.
I think I will add the extra word to this card when the opportunity comes to use it....

Glitter!!!
There's tons of glitter, glitz and glam in Vegas - so it only made sense that there was a glitter challenge. I chose to use some of my Alphabet Stickies for this. I also think I may continue using glitter for the butterfly bodies from the Big Shot Butterfly die! I love how the Tombow glue sticks up and holds onto anything.
Hope you're having a wonderful, glittery day!

Summer Fun Spread
I'm trying to do more scrapbook layouts. This one I got from Lori Waples. I can't believe how much I'm using my Big Shot - didn't think I'd use it much when I first saw it. Wow!
I've made this spread for some photos of my son as a baby in amongst some marigolds. I want to find some pictures I can use it for in my daughter's album with different colours.
I hope you're having a wonderful week. I have one concert today and another next week. Then I'll be able to relax a little bit before doing report cards again. Counting down until summer!!!

A whole "suitcase" full of stuff
Wow, for this Las Vegas VSN challenge we were to use all of the following on the card:
5 different layers
3 different colours
1 image
1 sentiment
3 dewdrops, brads, rhinestones or eyelets
ribbon
sponging
glitter
That was a challenge - to get everything used without it being too over the top. The inspiration for the challenge was a suitcase stuffed full of purchases after having won a ton of money.
Here's wishing! Have a great day - JOAN

Sketch Challenge
This card is created for a sketch challenge on the Las Vegas VSN - slot machines was the inspiration. Apparently I'd been sitting in front of the slots for a little bit too long because the green piece is askew.....didn't notice how badly until I'd taken the picture.
Summer holiday is getting close now.....starting to count down.

Frames
Here's another Las Vegas VSN challenge card. We had to include a frame of some sort...CSI Las Vegas was the theme and how criminals sometimes try to trick the CSI team by framing people.
I'm not that happy with this one....didn't work out how I imagined. There's only 45 minutes available to think of and create the card. Excuses, excuses.
Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Glittery Cupcake
Food is the theme for this card. I jumped at the chance to use the new dies I got for my Big Shot....plus I used Raspberry Tart paper - which I love.
I used a piece of the "Taste of Textiles" paper because it worked perfectly for the cupcake holder. I'm a bit sorry I added glitter to the whole top - but it's okay.

Elvis's Favorite Snack
Well, it is the season for Grads. I was asked to make up some cards for kids at our church, so I surfed Splitcoast for some ideas. I went to find out who to give credit for and realized that this sketch is a case of a case. Too funny. The original card was made by Jodi as a Valentine Card and was duplicated by Nancy for a Featured Stamper Challenge.
I now have to start working on some booklets for my daughter and a couple of her friends who are graduating too. Thankfully, not until the very end of June.
Now....on to another VSN card...
Apparently, Elvis Presley's favorite snack was fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I do enjoy that type of sandwich - fried - oh my that would improve it to the level of rich sweetness....now, just add chocolate - LOL.
In honor of this snack - the colours for this challenge card were to be Barely Banana (the banana!), Creamy Carmel (the peanut butter), and Close to Cocoa (the fried bread) - plus it had to be musical. I dug out this retired "Jazzed Up" music set because it was a bit more funky for Elvis that the Musical Expressions!
Gotta have music every day ya know!!! It's good for the brain, body and soul!

Classic Colours
course your card suits are black and red - so the third Las Vegas VSN challenge was to create a card with those colours and white. I LOVE using these three colours....they're so classic. I haven't used this Musical Expressions uncoloured before - and I like the way this looks. I may make a whole whack of them up to have on hand for parents who volunteer for music events.
I have two school spring concets coming up that I'm preparing for - so that's why you're going to be getting my VSN projects for a while.
Thanks for droppin' on by - JOAN

Unconventional Wedding Card
The Las Vegas VSN Challenge for this card was to create an unconventional wedding card. I'm too old to think of what an unconventional wedding looks like itself - so I went went bold bright colours. You could exchange the image for anything you have to celebrate and it would work!
I'm hoping to get more gardening done today....got two flower beds done yesterday. Hope your weekend was great and Happy Monday.

Cheers to You
I spent last night in Virtual Las Vegas and doubled down with these two cards. Splitcoast is having their VSN this weekend with a Vegas theme.
For this challenge you were to make two of the same card. I love this bright Pink Flamingo paper and have been wanting to use this piece for a while. I added Dazzling Diamonds to the glass so that the drink was more "slushy".
I can't seem to get onto Splitcoast today - I can go everywhere in cyber-world but there. So I guess I'm not going to be at the "gaming tables" for a while. But I'll keep checking back.
Hope you are having a great day - and if you're Canadian you're enjoying the long weekend. Thanks for stopping by. JOAN

Butterfly Layout
Here is one of the scrapbook spreads I did at the stamping event I was at last weekend. I NEVER would have picked this paper or colours -but I absolutely love it. I know what pictures I'm going to put on it, I just have to get them off the computer.
Hope you're having a great day. Thanks for dropping by.

Finally something new...
Wow, how horrible....I can't believe I haven't posted anything in so long. Things have been busy and I've been reorganizing my stamping stuff.....so on we go.
This first card is straight out of the current "Stampin' Success" magazine. I didn't use the "Taste of Textiles" paper and I used different ribbon. But I liked the design a lot.
The butterfly card was created at a team meeting last month using a baby wipe to create your own
multi-coloured stamp pad. I hadn't done that technique for a while and it was a good refresher. Plus, I love these butterflies. I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds bling.
Lastly, a quick simple card using some of the designer paper that I've neglected to use for a while.
I'm off to a stamping event today so I'll be able to share more. Plus now that my room is cleared up - and I have all my punches out where I can see them....I can get down to some serious stamping...and punching.
I hope you have a wonderful sun-shiney day - Thanks for dropping by.
