Masked Silhouette

I created this yesterday using the colours for this week's Paper Players Challenge - Marina Mist, Crushed Curry and Slate Grey.  I was making the second technique card for my Team Meeting tonight.

I called this technique "reverse masking" - but does anyone else have a different name?

Lots of snow has melted here today - all I did while I was walking was breathe in deeply - the fresh - unfrosty - air felt so good.  The birds were enjoying it too - singing away.
Hope your day was tickity-boo!
Thanks for stopping by.

CAS & KickOff

It's Friday!
It's Summer!
It's the long weekend - WoooHooo!
I'm keeping things Clean and Simple today 'cause there's a lot to get done and I'm raring to go!

For today's main feature I used the colours from Create with Connie and Mary (Basic Black, Real Red and Sahara Sand) and the sketch from   Just Add Ink....which creates a perfect Clean and Simple card.  It's always difficult for me to leave crisp clean card stock - but I backed away today.  The butterfly has some texture - I combined the Elegant Butterfly punch with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die.

Now on to even more texture....this is the card that my guests will be creating at my Holiday Catalogue Kickoff today.  It contains absolutely NOTHING from the Holiday catalogue - but I've got displays of lots of things that were created with the new toys.....

So - off I go - Hope your day is full of fun stuff to do.
Thanks for taking the time to visit.

Double Stamped Watercolour

I stumbled on something new today - well, new for me.  I was working on two challenges - Freshly Made Sketches and colours from Stampin' Royalty....Pool Party, Island Indigo, Old Olive and More Mustard.

I selected an image from Serene Silhouettes and pulled out some watercolour paper.  I coloured the stamp using Markers and then wet the watercolour paper before I stamped the image.  I spritzed the paper with water, but I also rubbed it around with my fingers (which miraculously didn't have any ink on them!).  I didn't want water to be pooling on the paper.  I stamped the image and, of course, the colours ran - as they should with watercolour paper.  I decided to ink up the image again, use the Stamp-a-ma-jig, and re-stamp overtop of the blurry image.
I'm sure this is nothing new - but it allowed the image to look sharper.

It's a beautiful Wednesday evening.  Hope you're enjoying the flora and fauna in your little neck of the woods.  Thanks for visiting mine.

Feel Better Wishes

Happy Saturday!
Today's card is using a colour challenge from Create with Connie and Mary - I had the pieces started earlier this week - when the challenge came out - but haven't gotten it together until today.  June is such a busy time!

The colours are - Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo.  I'm trying to play with some of my new stuff too!  I'm loving the Floral Frames Framelits.  The smudging was quite by accident, but I like how it turned out once I smudge the entire frame.

Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday.  Thanks for stopping by.
