Ombre Thank You

Hey, Hey, Hey - Happy Friday everyone.  I got the Friday Mashup completed this afternoon and.....my paper pumpkin for this month put together - so I'm on a roll!

This week the Friday Mashup was...
  1. Create a project with a  "Tree or Leaves."
  2. Create a project using the "Color Orange."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Project with Leaves/ Tree & the Color Orange."
I decided to create an ombre background to incorporate the Orange.....and well as having orange leaves with a Pumpkin Pie button to gather everything together.  Clean and simple....not something I accomplish very often.

I also put together the Paper Pumpkin Memo Medley.  It's something I'm going to keep in my stamping room to help me keep track of things!

Hope your weekend has happy crafting elements in it.  I'm hoping to do some prep work for my November events.  Stay tuned!

Thanks for dropping by,
Joan

Happy Day

Oh, Happy Day - I did my first challenge for the summer....actually two.  I've combined the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the Friday Mashup!

I've used Gorgeous Grundge (from Convention) for the splatters and Happy Day.  I've also added some of the Brights Candy Dots - I like these so much the way they are, I'm not sure I'll ever turn them into brads; but it's nice to have the option.

I'm appreciating the simple sketch - it made the card quick to create.  I'm finding that since I haven't been home for a month, there are so many things that I WANT to do as well as HAVE to do, that I'm not quite sure where I need/want to start.  Guess I'll just take one day at a time!

The Friday Mashup is...
  1. Create a project with "Polka Dots ".
  2. Create a project using "the Word Happy".
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "with Polka Dots & The Word Happy on it ".
And the sketch is here...
I have also worked on putting together some of my Paper Pumpkins - I had a number of boxes that I had no time to play with.  The July kit included supplies to create little banners....I opted to change them into cards.  I've only created two right now - I still have supplies for more.

And I guess I've actually completed one more challenge since I found the My Paper Pumpkin Challenge Blog.  I'll be checking it out from now on too.

Off I go to begin the day - hope you have a marvelous one.
Thanks for stopping by.

My Paper Pumpkin Arrived

Ya know how there's that knock at the door and you wonder - who on earth can that be? - well that's what happened today - and much to my surprise, it was my Paper Pumpkin arriving.  I was so excited, I   tore it open so see what was inside and went to work creating the "instructed" card and three more of my own variations...
This is the suggested creation - except I added more splatters through the card.

Next I decided to separate the words on the text stamp by using a marker.

Then the "throw away bits" caught my eye and I added them along the side.  The DSP has been cut and re-cut to create more banners.

and lastly - I masked the area under the "throw away banner bit" to create a new little banner and added a splattered scallop punch.  I just got the Basic Gray ribbon and love it!

So - You can stick to the instructions or add bits and pieces of what you have available.  If you'd like to learn more about My Paper Pumpkin - and get a wonderful surprise package in the mail each month  - here is the link
