Hydrangeas Make Me Smile

I worked backwards while making the hydrangea for this card.  I had done things the "right" way at first and ended up with too much white around parts of the flower when I die cut it out.  So, I die cut the flower shape out of white cardstock.  Then, I carefully lined up the image over the white piece and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  So far so good; I even got the stem in the middle.  Finally, I took Pear Pizzazz and Rococo Rose to stamp the colour to the leaves and blossoms.  I also used a white gel pen to colour over the centres of the flowers.

I've used the Rococo Rose pieces from the Hydrangea Hill DSP.  I'm going to miss this In Colour when it retires at the end of the month.  Also retiring is the coordinating Scalloped Linen Ribbon.  For this card I've cut one side of the scallops off and adhered the remaining ribbon to the band of DSP.  The Basic Rhinestone Jewels have been coloured with the Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends marker to make them coordinate.  The label comes from the Tasteful Labels Dies.

Both the Hydrangea stamp set and dies are carrying over to the new catalogue.

That's it for today.  I hope you are enjoying your long weekend so far.
