Just for Fun.....with a stuffy

A quick bit of background -
My daughter (almost 20) spent a week in Mexico and didn't think she could take her stuffed Zebra, named Bunny, with her. So I said I would take care of Bunny and spent the week taking various pictures of bunny at school and home. I used My Digital Studio to create 5x5 pages to make a little book for Allison when she got home.
It's typical me - I have NO problem with stuffed animals - talking to them, hugging them - in fact two of the bears on the "New Friends" page spent time with me while I recovered from my knee replacements - so Allison was not surprised that Bunny spent so much time with me.

The kids at school were quite co-operative with helping with photos; and my son was patient enough to take a picture of Bunny on his drums for me before their gig - in a bar - on a Friday night. What a good guy!

It's the first I've used My Digital Studio, and while I enjoy the tactile use of papers and embellishments (and DIMENSIONALS!!!!) I did have tons of fun creating these.

Back to card making - thanks for stopping by - Have a terrific day - Joan

Color Dare #98

Woo Hoo Happy Wednesday and Color Dare Day. I LOVE this combination!

Perfect Plum
Always Artichoke
Neutral of Choice - Vanilla

I created some small pieces of "background" paper using the Baby Blossoms set. I ended up using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the images matched up better and used card stock Velum as permanent guides...which will stay in the stamp sets' box!

This sketch is an older one (December) from the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge. I always keep a copy of the sketches from the challenge blogs I visit, even if I don't get it done for that week.

I hope you take the plunge and try out this Color Dare. Be sure to label it CD98 when posting to public galleries, and don't forget to check out the wonderful creations from the rest of the Color Dare Design Team......

Springtime Smiles

There's no school today because of it being "Family Day" - so I've been able to play most of the day so far. Now that I have a challenge completed I'll be able to finish a project I've been working on for my daughter who gets back from Mexico on Wednesday....I hope I finish it on time!

Today's card uses the sketch from Mojo Monday and I decided to try using the Build a Blossom again.

My husband is out clearing the driveway (of old snow) so we're not close to springtime - but we can smile in anticipation. Hope you're having a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by - Joan

Marina Mist Glitter

I honestly think I should have stopped at two Rhinestone Brads on this one!!!! But I am excited about one thing.....I created Marina Mist Glitter by mixing some re-inker and Dazzling Diamonds. Marina Mist is my new favorite blue, and you can be sure I have some of this glitter left over for use on other projects. Wooo Hooo!!!!!

I also kind of like the affect of how the re-inker bled into the Crystal Effects that I covered the petals with. Makes it look like the flower has a fuzzy centre...which is why the brads are so out of place. Oh well....live and learn.

There are three challenges in this card today:
Splitcoast Sketch Challenge - Sketch
Color Throwdown - Light Green (Pear Pizzazz), Ballet Blue (Marina Mist) and Dark Green (Wild Wasabi
Stampin'Up Only - Using a wheel on the card - (Sweet Swirls)

Thanks for stopping by today - have a wonderful Thursday evening. Joan

Colour Dare 97

WoooHoooo, it's Wednesday - hump day and Color Dare Day! I always liked River Rock, but I don't think I've really used it since it became a standard Neutral. So I'm happy Riley, our Color Dare Creator, had it as one of this week's colours.... which are....
River Rock
Marina Mist
Night of Navy

I don't know quite where the butterflies came from, but I pulled that stamp set out right from the get go - when they jump out, ya just gotta figure out how they want to be used. These little guys blend in well with the one sheet of Presto Patterns Specialty DSP which I've sponged with River Rock.

Be sure to stop in on the other members of the Design Team to see what they've created this week. Also be sure to post your creation over at the Color Dare Challenge Blog because we enjoy seeing what you've come up with. If you post to a public gallery be sure to tag it D97. Here are the links to the DT members - have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Rose Crumb Blossoms

What a gorgeous day it was yesterday....and I finally got my car washed. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been done since the fall. The kids at school were trying to keep their jackets off at recess...at least that's what I heard.

So, in hopes of spring....I've used the Easter Blossoms set today for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. It will still be a while before there are buds on the trees - but it's nice to think about. I'm sure we're not out of the deep freeze yet.

Have a terrific Tuesday!!!! Thanks for taking some time to stop by and visit. Joan.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to all...

I've not been feeling all that well lately, and sort of lost my Mojo....but I'm trying to get back into my stamping room and being productive!!!!!

I made this Valentine for my Husband. We sort of already celebrated it at the end of last week while we were at Teacher's Convention. It's an annual event of staying in the city at a hotel and having a fancy dinner one of the nights. It's one thing about convention that I look forward to every year.

I know that not everyone is into this holiday - my daughter doesn't like it and either do a couple of my friends.....and with the passing of this day we will be able to start stamping more springlike images in hopes that the snow soon disappears and all is restored to greens and florals. WoooHoo!!

Well, I hope you are having a marvelous Monday - Valentines or not - Thanks for stopping by!!! Joan

Color Dare Wednesday

Welcome to Wednesday's Color Dare...
Garden Green
Bashful Blue
Peach Parfait

These colours just asked me to create something flowery this week and I incorporated this weeks' Sweet Stop Sketch.

When I pulled out a scrap of Garden Green, I found that it already had a floral background stamped on it and the edges were already distressed.....so I just had to use it for my base. I also got the new Build a Blossom stamp set and the matching Blossom Petals Punch. I think it will take a bit of practice for me to figure out these flowers. The ones I've seen look so nice....I'm relatively happy with my creation here, but I need to play around with the set a bit more.

I hope you take the challenge this week and post your creation over on the Color Dare Blog. Also, be sure to stop in and see what the other members of the Design Team has come up with for this week's challenge. I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Thanks for stopping by - and have a great Wednesday.

Star Studded Birthday

Well, I finally got around to doing the Mojo Monday Sketch....on Friday night. I'm not quite sure where the week went.

I think this is such a fun sketch! You could do so many different things with it. I also incorporated the "Clean And Simple" challenge from Splitcoast which was entitled "Rock and Roll" so I knew all week that I wanted to use the Extreme Guitar, rhinestones and stars. I had planned on it being a girl's card - but having used the black and white, it could go either way.

I'm excited about going to a recorder workshop tomorrow and am hoping to gain some stuff to take back to my classroom since I'm working on recorder with Grades 4-6 right now.

I hope you have something to look forward to this weekend. Thanks for stopping by! Joan

Color Dare #95

Happy Color Dare Day!!!!!

I must say when I first saw these colours, I zeroed in on the Daffodil Delight and Black - made me think of bumble bees and I thought I would just add a bit of the Marina Mist - Well - the card evolved and I love this combination together - with all the colours playing their part!!!!

Daffodil Delight
Marina Mist
Basic Black

I've used on of the Sale-a-bration sets - "Sweet Summer" and I like the way the little swirling branches create a nice DSP. I coloured two of the Basic Pearls with a black Sharpie for the centres of the buttons from the Sale-a-bration Ribbon and Button Pack.

Here is the list of the other members of the Design Team so you can visit to see what wonderful creations they've come up with for today

Glenda Wyatt
Heather Prince
Joan Jeffery - Me
Marisa Ritzen
Melissa Hubert
Nance Leedy
Riley Fitzgerald

Remember to post your own creation over at the Color Dare and to list is as CD95 when posting to a public gallery. Have a wonderfully fantastic day and thanks for stopping by!

Rose Linen

Here's a card I completely cased for my upcoming Technique Workshop. The original is in the January issue of Stampin' Success Magazine. I've changed the colours, paper and embellishments.

I'm using the Faux Linen technique - sanding the "gloss" off of the glossy white paper and adding ink to highlight the lines.

I've had a very enjoyable low-key birthday today - it's been just wonderful!

Hope your day has been enjoyable too! Thanks for stopping by!
