Cats in the Bag

I've had some fun with the Nine Lives stamp set - as promised.
The first card has been CASed from Tina Rappe.  I liked how she layered the Starburst Punch with one of the Pearlized Doilies.

I wanted to see what two colours on the cat would look like so chose Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze. I used the two different fur patterns from the Nine Lives set.  The coordinating DSP is from the Tea Room Specialty paper.

Sometimes you just have to let the DSP do all the work.  I love this bunch of flowers. Also, with using the Cat Punch to create a silhouette, you can easily have your cat facing the opposite direction from the stamp.
And here is my cat - in the bag.  Luckily I saved my knitting before she got too comfortable.

Hope all is well your way,
Thanks for stopping by,
Joan

Peek-a-Boo Kitty

I was busy at the beginning of this month preparing for a Teacher's Convention and then working at it. I left this card, half made, on my desk as I headed out of town.  I remained on my desk for a few days when I got home and finally I attached everything and added collars to the cat's necks.  I may actually do this card again and use the Balmy Blue ribbon that I have.

This idea with punching out various cat silhouettes is not mine.  But I thought it was a cute idea.

Now to go and create some more cat creations.

Thanks  for dropping by,
Joan

Celebrating Six Years of Paper Pumpkin

Woo Hoo! Now has never been a better time to give Paper Pumpkin a try. And because it’s our sixth birthday celebration, we’ll be pulling out all the stops. You’ll get an adorable kit, a special box, and most importantly, you’ll get TWO stamp sets instead of one.  All because Paper Pumpkin is celebrating 6 years.

We don’t want to give away too much, but here’s a little bit that I can share with you about the March kit.  Because it’s our birthday, we decided to create a kit that is perfect for making birthday cards!
  • The March kit features eight full-sized, mailable cards
  • Coordinating colors are Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Poppy Parade
  • This kit has an element that is sure to “pop”!
  • The FREE stamp set is even bigger and better than your typical Paper Pumpkin stamp set and can be used on a variety of crafting projects.
Remember, you have to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by March 10 in order to get in on this celebration.

Hope for the Future

I was asked to create a card to accompany a gift for our Intern Pastor at church upon his last Sunday in the internship program.  I created these two cards and we have decided on the one below as the "winner".  It has my favorite scripture verse on it and one that goes well with our intern who is now waiting for a call to his own church.
I've used the front and back of one of the Floral Romance Specialty papers and added the Braided Linen Trim which co-ordinates quite well.  The scripture verse comes from a retired set, which I keep on hand for just such occasions.

Hope you are doing you best to keep warm in your corner of the world.
Thanks for visiting.

Morning Happy Tails

Today is the first day of a five day snow forecast - so what better way to begin, than hunkered down in my craft room creating.  I selected the "Happy Tails" stamp set and tomorrow I'm going to have to get busy with the Nine Lives set.  I'm a cat person by nature, and have now used the dog set more than the cat set.....gotta even it out.  But that's tomorrow.

For my first card I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches using washi tape for the diagonal pieces.  They made for a quick and easy card.  I change the layout a little because of the way the dog is facing.
All of my cards today are monochromatic.  Just the way I like them; black and white and a tiny pop of colour.  I love the Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder...the varying sizes and wonky shapes.
This card was actually my first creation this morning.  It's a pretty blatant CASE from Heather Heroldt off of Pinterst.  The only thing I changed was adding DSP in place of a stamped background.  But the casing led to two of my own creations and that's what it should do - inspire you to go further.

Well, I think I'll suggle in with some tv and knitting.
Stay warm and cozy
Joan
