Today's an Exciting Day!

Both my husband and I did not have to DO any Christmas concerts this year.  I retired as a music teacher in the spring of this year, and Greg had been a band teacher for over 30 years.  He is currently in the position of President of the Alberta Teacher's Association - so no concerts for him either.
However,  we do get to attend our grandson's FIRST Christmas concert.  I can't wait for all the cuteness of a Kindergarten performance - especially when they will be singing about wanting slippers for Christmas.  It's gonna make our day!

Now that I'm no longer focused on Christmas cards I can play with the new stuff that is coming up, but ALSO - play with products that I haven't even touched yet.

I like this floral image from "Floral Phrases" and the "Floral Thinlits" are so pretty.  I will be playing around with them a bit more.  I should point out that I modified the saying for this card.  The stamp actually reads, "A Special Note of Thanks to you.  I masked off the last two words with tape before inking the stamp and then removed that tape BEFORE stamping it on the card.   This is also the first time that I've used the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon!  I have a soft spot for gingham ribbon - not fabric, just ribbon.  Not sure why.

Anyway, there you have it for today.
Enjoy the Holiday Season with all it's little wonders.
Have a great day,
Joan

New Toys to play with!

I received my pre-order box of goodies last week - products that are going to be available in the New Year in the Occasions Catalogue.  (one of the perks of being a demonstrator - preorders & sneek peeks!)

I always love those sets that have images which allow you to create your own background paper.  There are a couple of images in this "Lovely Wishes" set that allow you to do that.  I also created this card twice because this one floral image can be worked a number of ways.

I couldn't decide which flower "petals" were to be used with the outline image, so where the ink didn't quite cover the flower I used a blending pen to colour it in  - voila - all good.
If you are wanting to create these cards for yourself the products are shown below.  Remember, the "Lovely Wishes" stamp set is not available until January 3, 2018. The biggest time of the Stampin'Up! year - the NEW Occasions Catalogue and SALE-A-BRATIONS!!!!!

Hope all your Christmas planning is falling into place.
Thanks for stopping by.

Tessellating Punch Card

I was blog hopping this morning and came across a card by Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek (Song of My Heart Stampers) where she used the Everyday Labels punch and fit them all together like puzzle pieces.  Or, for the math geeks - tessellated.  Since this punch is being carried over until May 31, I decided to create a couple of cards using her idea, but with other images from the "Labels of Love" stamp set - which is also available until May 31.

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the two stamps lined up nicely.  But I'm sure in the future I'll be using the Stamparatus once it's available.

I used Berry Burst for the "Celebrate a Wonderful Year" card.  It took nine punched images, some which where cut in half and adhered them to a white piece of cardstock measuring 4 x 5.25 inches.  A Metallic Edged Ribbon bow was added and some Rhinestones.

For the "Love" card, I used Cherry Cobbler and distressed around the edges just to make it a bit different.  The centre tag is raised with dimensionals with the ribbon passing underneath; and a heart and rhinestone finishing it off.

If you would like to recreate these cards at home, the products are shown below, each linked to my on-line store for easy access.

December Paper Pumpkin

I received my December Paper Pumpkin on Thursday and put it together today.  I just love these cards.  Everything was already die-cut and there were a variety of sentiments to choose from as well as some additional images.

If I were designing a card, I would never think to put Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral together - but I love how they look on the little note card.  So I'll be using that combo again on one of my own creations.

If you'd like to start getting the Paper Pumpkin kits for yourself or as a gift, check out the page on my website  HERE.  In order to receive January's kit, you have to have registered by January 10.

Paper Pumpkin Stockings

I finished making up these darling little stockings that were in the Paper Pumpkin in November.  I have to figure out what to do with them, now that I'm not teaching.  There are ten of them, so I was thinking of filling them with a candy cane, or something a bit more substantial and handing them out to the FedEx/UPS/Mail people during these next couple weeks.  They are being kept extremely busy these days with so many on-line orders.  Or I may fill them and keep them in my car to give to sales people who are sometimes in need of a little pick-up at this busy time of year.

I should be receiving the December Pumpkin any day now, and I can't wait to see what's inside.  Will it be Christmas related, or New Years, or something completely different.

Don't forget NOW is a perfect time to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin as a gift for someone for Christmas, for any of the timelines shown below.

6-Month Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription - Price: $154.00

You have until January 10, 2018 to subscribe for the January Pumpkin.

Paper Pumpkin is a subscription kit program by Stampin’ Up! Each month a fully designed project kit arrives at your door filled with stamps, ink, and paper—everything cut and ready to go, so you can skip to the fun. You'll enjoy fun projects like cards, gift packaging, home décor, and more.

Okay. I’ve gotta have one. How do I get in line?

With the launch of this tool, we’re trying something different: testing a new reservation system. It acts like a true preorder: you reserve your spot and we guarantee shipment as soon as the product arrives in our warehouse. Demonstrators and customers will place reservations and receive their product at the same time. This system will allow us to get the product to market as soon as possible while avoiding backorders and efficiently managing inventory.

The global launch will feature three reservation windows. For each window, please note the following:
  • Reservation quantities are while supplies last.
  • Limit is 3 tools per demonstrator (talk about a good time to join my team) and 1 tool per customer per reservation window.
  • Customers may participate in multiple reservation windows.
  • In order to reserve your Stamparatus, you are required to provide your credit card information.
  • Credit cards will not be charged until the Stamparatus ships from our facility. When you close your order, be sure to verify that your credit card and shipping information is correct.
Here are the reservation windows:

As you can see, we are currently in the second reservation window.  I checked this morning, and you can still reserve your Stamparatus.  However,  I would strongly suggest you get in on this second reservation window as quickly as possible because they flew off the shelves the first time.
You will not be billed for the tool until the item arrives and ships from Stampin' Up! warehouse.

There is a maximum reservation number (since the manufacturer can only produce so many in one time frame) so I would not wait to reserve since the reservation window will close early if the maximum number has been reached.

There is a link on my online store where you can reserve your stamparatus.  When you are on my website, click on Shop Now and there will be a picture of the Stamparatus with a "Reserve Yours Now" button. Here you will sign into your account, or create one if you have not shopped at my on-line store before.  See more information about the reservation process below in the first Q&A.

We are all learning because this is a brand new way of rolling out this amazing new product.  That's how exciting this product is!

Q & A for the Stamparatus

Q: How do I reserve my Stamparatus?
A: Normally you order Stampin’ Up! products through the online store or emailing me; in this case, you will click the RESERVE link on the Stamparatus page which will take you to the reservation page. For step-by-step instructions, please see picture below.
Q: What if I do not have a Stampin’ Up! customer account?
A: To reserve a Stamparatus, you must have a customer account. To create one, click Create Account on the online store, you can find me with this info...  Joan Jeffery, Demo ID 2000079, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Q: Am I billed at the time I reserve my Stamparatus?
A: No. However, a credit card is required to reserve the product.

Q: When will I be charged for the Stamparatus?
A: When inventory arrives in the warehouse, we will add your reservation to a shopping cart. We will then send you an email notifying you that your Stamparatus order is ready. Once you finalize payment and close your order, the system will charge your credit card.

Q: Will I be able to add other products to my Stamparatus reservation?
A: No. However, once your reservation is transferred to your shopping cart, you will then be able to add other items to your order. Important note: Please do not delete the Stamparatus from your order. We will not be able to add it back and you will lose your reservation.

A: Yes.

Q: What if I change my mind and want to cancel my reservation?
A: You can cancel your reservation at any time before your credit card has been charged. To cancel please contact me so I can give you more details

Q: Will the tool be available in the 2018–2019 annual catalog?
A: Yes. Once the annual catalog ordering period begins, you will be able to order the Stamparatus as you would any other product. Reservations will no longer be required, and there will be no limit on the number of tools you can order.

Q: When I close my order, can I take advantage of current Stampin’ Up! promotions?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I participate in all three reservation periods?
A: Yes.

Q: How many stamp placement tools can I reserve per reservation window?
A: For customers, there is a limit of 1 per reservation window.  Demonstrators can order 3 and get their 20% (or more) discount.  Yes!  It makes sense to Join my team! - Inkspired Divas

Q: How did we come up with the name Stamparatus?
A: We landed on an innovative name by combining two words that speak to the end use of the tool as well as Stampin’ Up! branding.
Stamp: To impress a pattern or mark (especially an official one) on
a surface, object, or document using an engraved or inked
block or die or other instrument
Apparatus: The technical equipment or machinery needed for a
particular activity or purpose

Stamp + Apparatus = Stamparatus

This is so super exciting!  I hope you can sense my excitement about this tool! Please don't hesitate to contact me.  I'm happy to help you reserve your tool!

Using Stampin'Up! in my Art

While I've been a Stampin'Up! demonstrator for the past 12 years, in the last 5 years, I have also started delving into other areas of art.  I have a variety of art journals going at the same time, as well as venturing into producing mixed media art on canvases.  So, whenever possible, I try to include Stampin'Up! products in my art.  The above is a page out of a current journal using the

"Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies" - 144671
and the
"Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies - 144674

It not just cards - our products can be utilized a number of different ways.

Let your imagination go wild,
Happy Creating
