Volleyball & Tea

Yesterday's sketch challenge is shown on the left....I got up early to find out what it was and then got to work making a birthday card for Allison's friend. I knew I had to use turquoise and it HAD to have a volleyball on it. The poor girl tried to make a card the night before but nothing came to her, so I offered help. She was happy with
how it

turned out. I getting better at remembering to use stuff....such as the heat and stick powder...that way you can get our fantastic glitter onto finer images. The order of things is: Versa Mark Pad, Heat & Stick Powder, HEAT, Glitter, HEAT.

I actually used it again today for the "Tea" card. That poor "t" has gone through so much this morning I'm surprised it survived. First I covered it with white craft ink but when I was heating it the tweezers didn't want to let go and I ended up with a little scuff on the t...I covered the white with Soft Sky, but since you could still see the little scuff I decided to cover the soft sky with Dazzling Diamonds (This is where the heat & stick powder came in) I can still see the scuff, but oh well.
The second "disaster" with this card was the rub-ons. The challenge today for "Ways to Use It" was to include rub-0ns on your project. I guess my hands were a bit
sticky or sweaty because as I was cutting the pieces away from the page of rub-ons....a tiny bit of one stuck to my finger. So....the top swirl isn't as fancy and perfect as the bottom.
I want to thank Godelieve at Stamping Mathilda
for the inspiration of using black embossing on the tea cups. I had done them first (including the cutting out) with regular black ink, but then I remembered how Godelieve often uses black embossing and it helps make things pop...so there ya go!!!

Off to do some blogging and then finish some stamping projects. Very excited because tonight we're going to the Winspear Centre in Edmonton to see Natalie Cole.
