Country Duo

This is the card that was created Friday night at my open house - well, actually the one on the right hand side.
I love to distress paper.  Either with ink or with tearing.  The main features of the card remained the same.  All that changed were the embellishments and distressing.
On the left hand card I used silver metallic thread behind the focal piece - which you can't notice in the photo.
The right hand card has the torn edges, a different ribbon and the greeting is left square to the card.
Something about tearing paper.  Did you know that paper has a grain just like fabric?  That's why it is easier to tear paper in one direction than in the other.  Taking smaller tears against the grain makes it easier to match  your tearing all the way around.  Also, for a more feathered edge, tear the paper toward you; then you can see the layers of paper and if you add ink to the edges they will stand out more.

That's all for today.  Two different looks for the same card.  Leave a comment to let me know which one you prefer.
Come back tomorrow to see more cards created with this Country Home Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by,
Joan
