The Retiring List is Here!!!

WooHoo! It's that time of year again, when we say goodbye to the discontinuing products from the Catalogue.  This year we're starting the goodbye party a little early to give you time to get all your discontinuing favorites before they retire.

I can not determine how to attach a PDF file to my blog post.  So

1) you can contact me and ask me to forward you a copy of my newsletter or I can e-mail the PDF file to you.

2) You can go to  my website to see the items that are on the retired list.  There you will see all the items as opposed to a listing of the items.

You can get to the product section of my website HERE .

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes you.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.

Exciting Colour Revamp

One of the exciting bits of news we got this weekend at OnStage was that we're having a Colour ReVamp!  We know this is going to happen every 5 years or so!  I'm super excited about this and agree with most of the colors they decided to pull. They are colours I hadn't pulled out to use in quite a while!  I know they will never be able to please every single crafter out there, but I love what Stampin' Up has pulled together.

First I'm going to give you a list of the colours which are leaving......Retirement starts today - April 9 -  and so you'll need to order your ink refills and stock up on cardstock colours that you know you will be wanting to use after they are discontinued.

Here is the list in a grouping of the colours retiring.
  • Always Artichoke
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Island Indigo
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Rose Red
  • Soft Sky
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Tempting Turquoise
  • Wild Wasabi
  • Wisteria Wonder
  • Outgoing In Colors: Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.
Please use the Hostess Code  2NHGSMPU when you are placing your orders on-line

Now - Here are the  new Color Families!
Be in the know!
  • Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla will be their own category, so that freed up space in the Neutrals to pull in some fun base colors that really breathe life into that selection: Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow and Night of Navy.
  • You'll notice there's some returning In Colors! Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo are joining our regular color line. Fun to have some old favorites back!
  • Subtles has the most new colors in it, with Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Soft Seafoam and Petal Pink.
  • Regals has the most familiar colors, with only one new face (Shaded Spruce) but did you notice some of those shades used to be in the Brights section? We've really switched things up!
  • The Brights are my total favorites now. I could look at that rainbow all day long. Check out the new Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody. Aren't they scrumptious?
Stampin' Up also took advantage of the color shakeup to update our ink pad cases. They're now even easier to open, made to be stackable, and have stickers for the inside so you can be sure you've got the right ink color when you stamp. (WooHoo!) The print is bigger, the color label is larger, and the new lids fit even more snugly, for less ink evaporation over time.
Best part? My favorite feature, the ink pad in the lid so the pad is always upside down to let gravity bring the ink to the surface, is still a fixture on our new pads! Oh and they also still work in the Color Caddy, so no worries there.

Here are the In-Colours for the next year.......
I love, love, love these new In-Colours! They just hit you - Ka-Pow! - like a fruit salad!

And finally - a look at the new colours added in the families above....

I will keep you up to date on what's going on -
Remember the New Catalogue will go live on June 1, 2018

An Amazing Weekend...

I had a fantastic time, this past Friday night and Saturday, spending time with Stampers from across western Canada.
Centre Stage was a new event for me, having promoted to Silver Elite, and it was an 80's theme this year.  The meal was great and I had fun with my table mates - Lyndsay Mahon and some of her Cloud Nine stampers.
We learned some of the new and EXCITING things that are coming around the corner real soon with the new catalogue - but I can't let the cat out of the bag yet.
During On Stage, on Saturday, the day was spent with 350 stampers with Make and Takes, recognition and demonstrations by fellow stampers.  I got to cross the stage in recognition of my promotion.  WooHoo! Too bad I didn't actually stand still so Tracey could take the picture. LOL

The lunches were wonderful - you never starve when you are at a Corporate Stampin'Up! event! A celebratory cupcake was given to all at our afternoon break.  Yummy.
And of course, it wouldn't have been a Stampin'Up! event if we hadn't heard from both Sara and Shelli!  Sara gave us several messages, but it was fun to see mother and daughter working together to share their creations using new products.
NEW PRODUCTS - that's the best part of May and June.  Stay tuned as I share swaps that I got and samples using some of the new products I received.  Oh, the perks of being a demonstrator!

I love what I do!
Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate and Dance

Here is the second card we will be doing at the Coffee and Cards.
I couldn't decide how I wanted to colour her dress.  I tried using the "negative" stamp that is included for it, but it just didn't work for me.  So I stamped the image in Night of Navy, and used a blender pen to draw the colour into the dress.  I then went over the shadow lines with the fine tip of the Night of Navy Marker and included a hat band on her hat.
Easy peasy, clean and neat!

Woo Hoo - Happy Mail for Me!

I was so excited yesterday when my Planning Packet arrived from Stampin'Up! Canada.  It's full of suggestions, encouragement and Goal planning to reach a fantastic trip to Orlando, Florida to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Stampin'Up! with thousands of demonstrators from around the world.  How Absolutely cool is that!

I don't HAVE to work towards going on the trip - but it's one of the perks of being a demonstrator!  It will be fun to see how many Canadian demonstrators head south for the celebration!

I hope you get some happy mail this week.  It sure does make a difference to the day!
Thanks for stopping by,

Back from Down Under

I thought it was high time I got my blog posts going again......I haven't been home a week yet, but I have been stamping and feeling more myself after the jet-lag.
Our trip to Australia was fantastic.  We were on 8 planes in 16 days, but everything was wonderful.  Our first stay in Brisbane, we "lived" across the street from the Botanical Garden which was lovely, full of birds and lizards.  I loved it.  We also went to the Koala Sanctuary where we saw all the Australian animals; held a koala, fed two kangaroos, and saw emu, wallabies, platypus and lots of little lizards.

Our second destination was Sydney and we stayed on Bondi Beach.  This was the view from the lobby of the hotel.  So many different places to eat - outside.  Oh, and gelato every evening!
I'm not a sun bather (except on my deck), but I did venture down to the shore and stood with the waves lapping against my shins - lots of sand left behind!
There was lots of artwork on the cement wall surrounding the beach, but one section was completely done in mosaic.  It was absolutely fascinating - all the different things that  were incorporated into it.  One small section even had pieces from a computer.
The third leg of the trip was to Melbourne.  We had a very entertaining evening sitting with two young lads talking about this that and the other thing! The second day in Melbourne we headed downtown to some alleys that were full of street art.  Some was just messy stuff, but a lot of it was pure art!
When we were back in Sydney, I was able to get downtown with my husband and we did a ferry tour, as well as a tour of their Botanical Garden.
The next day we headed back to Brisbane for one night (taking a ride on the river) and then we headed home.
We will definitely go back.

And now, it's time to get to work before the next little adventure.
I was up early this morning creating cards for this month's

Cards and Coffee.

Chickadee Wishes

It has taken me long enough, but I finally cracked open this stamp set and this DSP from the Occasions Catalogue.  The whole Petal Passion Suite is wonderful.
I love chickadees, so that was the number one selling point for me!  I also love all the different little embellishments that are included in the Thinlits Dies - like the lacey yellow piece at the bottom of the grouping.  AND - BONUS - the stamp set and thinlits come as a bundle saving you 10%.

I also caved in and purchased the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The set comes with circles, ovals and squares and I love the little stitch markings around the edges.

I should probably "warn" you now that over the next few weeks I'll be in and out with postings.  I will have some scheduled, and I may get some posted "live", but as I will be in Australia, I won't know when I'll have access.  You may get pictures of cards, you may get pictures of art (I do a lot of doodling/art on trips) or you may get Aussie pictures.

Have a wonderful day!

Abstract Dragonfly Love

We still have a lot of snow here, even though the temperatures are warming up and things are melting.  So, it will be a while before we see these wonderful creatures - Dragonflies must be my favorite insect and wow do they sparkle with the Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper!
Plus, I'm in the air tonight, flying to Australia, so a dragonfly seeming fitting for today's post.

I  used two stamp sets to create this card.  I like going  for the abstract every once in a while.  It can be a little unnerving at first, wondering how things are going to look - but once everything is "filled" in you can never have a bad looking card.  And a bonus is that you won't end up with any two cards looking the same.

I chose Eclectic Expressions which is one of the newer Sale-a-bration sets which you can get FREE with a $60 order.  Most of the shapes are from this set.  I added shapes and the sentiment from the Yay You set, which is a Host selection from the Occasions Catalogue.  So, really, you could get both of these stamp sets for free, and who doesn't like FREE!

If you can't "reach" $200 in sales by yourself, ask some of your crafting friends if they would like to add items to your order.  You could share supplies and each have a set of cards on hand to send out as Happy Mail.

Creativity at Work

Yesterday, I mentioned that I enjoyed seeing the different interpretations people can have of the sample cards I create for them.  My friend, Hailey, was able to send me photos of her cards and her friend Nicole's.  Everyone had the same pieces, but with selecting different DSP, colours and arranging things differently you can get a variety of different looking cards.  I love them both.
Hailey created a subtler looking card by using a different side of DSP and she was adamant that the dress be purple.  Or in this case....Fresh Fig from the 2017-19 In-Colours.
Hailey did a horizontal layout and angled the words.  She also kept the cut out holes from the word "YOU" and used them as embellishments.  And, she selected one of the other images from the stamp set.

I enjoy seeing what my stampers come up with utilizing the pieces I've given them.  It just shows you how you can purchase cardstock, a package of DSP, use your punches or Big Shot and you can create cards that are the same, but diffferent.  If you use our Acetate card Boxes, you can bundle them up as gifts for any occasion.

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by

Beautiful Amazing You

I think this is one of my favorite cards right now.  This Naturally Eclectic DSP works wonderfully.  I did this card at a workshop last night, and I really should have taken a picture of all the variations that the stampers came up with.  I must remember to do that in the future.

I want to dedicate this card to my dear, dear friend, Tamye Dunbar, who passed away yesterday morning.  Since the first time I saw her at a Stampin'Up! Team meeting, I knew I wanted to meet her and get to know her.  She was always smiling, friendly and full of laughs.  She was an incredible support to all those around her - no matter what part of her life they were in.  Hundreds of stampers know her, love her and will miss her deeply.  Rest in Peace my Friend.

May your day be filled with happy memories of those who you hold dear to your heart.

Wildflower Wishes

I loved the February Paper Pumpkin!  It was so bright and springy.  You have to watch the video below to get the real effect of everything that is in the Pumpkin.  I didn't use the stickers on the envelopes, so I will be able to make a whole set of other cards.  Wooo Hooo!  I'll be able to use the same three greetings except I'll be using the "negative letter images that were left after I pulled the tag off.
Remember you have until MARCH 10 to subscribe to the Pumpkin and gain Sale-a-bration rewards AND don't forget about the extra special 5th Anniversary Pumpkin coming out this month.

Springtime Ombre CASE

I fell in love with this card design, which is saw on Genevieve Ko's Blog Stampin4fun.  I thought it was a good use of the New Sale-a-bration Springtime Foils Specialty DSP and a reminder to use the sponge brayers that we carry.
I used Calypso Coral for my version and I just love how the fussy cut flower, from another sheet of the same series of paper, pop's brightly  off the velum.  Except for the fussy cutting, it's a quick and easy card to do - and any sentiment could be added when needed or the card can just be left blank.

Remember......we're down to the last month of Sale-a-bration.

To make a set of cards like the one above, you would need to purchase:
      • Whisper White Paper $11.25
      • Whisper White Envelopes $8.50  (40)
      • Any Two Ink Pad Colours $17.00
      • Pkg Velum $10.00
      • Metallic Thread $4.00
      • Sponge Brayers $10.75 ............the total cost would be $61.50 before S/H and GST.
      •
    • That price is if I assumed you have dimensionals, a circle punch and a pair of paper snips You would then earn the paper for FREE through Sale-a-bration.
    • If you don't have those three items.......
      • Mini Dimensionals $5.25
      • 2 1/4 Circle Punch $23.50
      • Paper Snips  $13.50................the total cost would be $103.75 before S/H and GST, and you'd still get the paper for FREE.
