Engagement Project

At MDS Monday this week, Beth has us thinking inside the box…..Project Life style.  As you may, or may not yet know, Stampin'Up! has teamed up with Becky Higgins and her Project Life Style of scrapbooking.  Beth has given us two Project Life style templates to choose from.  On MDS we also have an assortment of Pocket Card downloads that work perfectly with this style of scrapbooking.

We had an exciting Mother's Day last weekend, with our son getting engaged…..so I just had to use that event as the topic of my page.

Hope you have fun with this - be sure to check the MDS challenge blog to get some more inspiration from the design team.

Have a great Monday!

Thank You Bloom

Welcome to a sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps.  It's a nice easy sketch which I've tweaked a bit because of the big flower….and I'm just an askew type of person.

I'm loving the Blended Bloom flower - lots of potential with this image coming in the new catty - in just two weeks!!!!!
I coloured it in using my new Blendabilities - They will take a bit of practice, but I know I'm going to enjoy them!  The picture below was taken the morning after I coloured a bunch of flowers - trying out the markers for the first time.  If you look at the orange flower below, and the flower above, you can see that the colour is blended a bit better - and that's after a day of sitting - so if you don't like how things turned out, you can easily adjust them.

Here is the sketch - Have fun with it -  we always enjoy seeing what everyone creates!

Thanks for stopping by,
Joan

Noel Stars

Wow - it's been a while since I've posted anything - I have not been feeling well for the past number of weeks.  But I have new toys in my stamp room and I'm feeling a bit better - so hopeful I can get my Mojo back and running!
My first challenge in WEEKS is Merry Monday and they want stars this week…..

I've used the new "Hello Honey" in colour and a bit of paper from the upcoming Moonlight DSP.  To be honest - I just looked at the name of the paper - funny how I picked this piece to go with the stars!  Hmm, maybe the mojo is warming up again.

Have a wonderful evening.
Thanks for stopping by,
Joan

Ikat Birthday

Welcome to a colour day at Sunday Stamps..although mine look a bit wonky in my photo - sorry.  Some colours are tough to get a good representation of!  Anyway - we've got Melon Mambo, Costal Cabana and Basic Black for you today.

I've used the "Eye-Catching Ikat" Photopolymer set - I tend to forget them in my cupboard - but I do like using them and being able to see through everything when I'm stamping.  I didn't use my stamp-a-ma-jig to get things lined up - which is evident.

I cut along the bottom set of designs before attaching the stamped piece to the card front.
Also, I created a small mask on the clean sheet of card stock before I started stamping the designs.  I cut the mask the exact size of the "Happy" so I could stamp it once I was finished with the designs.

Hope you join us for the challenge this week - it was awesome to see so many of you for the last challenge.  If you're looking for some more inspiration - be sure to check out what the Design Team has created at the Sunday Stamps blog.

Have a good day,
Joan

Reworking Bookmarks

Now that the Fort Trade Fair is over, my taxes are done, and I'm no longer sick ------I just might be able to work at getting my crafting mojo back - wow!
This afternoon I was cleaning off my desk and came across the bookmarks I made at Leadership in January.  I knew I wouldn't use them as bookmarks or tags - so I reworked them onto cards.

The photos look a bit blurry to me - so I'm sorry for that!  Now I'm off to clean some more so I can get a bit more created.

Thanks for popping by - no descriptions today - sorry for that also.
Enjoy the beginning of your weekend.

Starbursts and Gold

Tami has a fun sketch for us this week at MDS Monday using the Starburst punch and an extra challenge of adding some gold bling.  I didn't got too heavy on the bling this week - but I like the little coil of gold sequins.  I was super happy to see the "Gorgeous Grunge" set added to MDS - I use this so much in my stamping!

Our design team has some awesome interpretations of the sketch this week so be sure to stop by the MDS Monday blog.
Hope you week is off to a great start.

Hope you have fun with this one - I love what the Design Team has come up with in their interpretations - so be sure to look to the challenge blog for inspiration and then link your own creation there so we can see it!

Fly Butterfly

We have a sketch for you today over at Sunday Stamps - and I love it.
This simple layout is a standard when I do my Trade Fairs for the Make and Takes - although I do not have any of the embellishments added for those events.  Simply stamp and go.
So - because I'm preparing for the Fort Trade Fair, I had an extra little matt piece on my desk and used it for this card.  I love the Creative Elements set - that background stamp is so pretty.

There are lots of inspirational ideas over on the Challenge Blog - hope you join us.  This challenge is open until May 2, so there's lots of time to create and we'd love you to share with us.

Finally - Happy Easter Blessings to everyone.
He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!

Sequinned Poinsettia

The Merry Monday this week was to use Slate Gray, Crumb Cake and White.  Not a combination I would think of, but with the right images it's wonderful.

Seems fitting to create a Christmas card for today as we, as well as other areas of the world, are getting a wee bit of snow….mixed with rain.  At least at this point we know it won't stick around for very long.

Lots of exciting things happening on the Stampin'Up! front!  Here's a video on an upcoming product line...

Hope you day is going well.
Thanks for stopping by.

Dropping a line….

I'm so sorry I'm delinquent in getting this post up - I was babysitting all day yesterday (with a headache) and totally forgot about getting this post up for MDS Monday!  Cindy has us using the colour matching tool on her sketch this week.  I do love that tool - you can pull in any colour from photos - this week I used it when filling in my punches or stamps with colour.

Here is the sketch - have fun with it!  And if you're looking for some more awesome inspiration be sure to check out the challenge blog - lot's of fun interpretations of the sketch!

Here's  what yesterday afternoon looked like - lots of djembe playing!  Every time Elliot walked by the drum he had to hit it.  I love this shot with his hand blurred and the obvious evidence that he was singing along to his drumming.

Have a fantastic day!

Paper Pumpkin from March

I worked on the cards from the March Paper Pumpkin this morning - love the little glimmer dots and the wooden words.  The above card is the prototype.

I had tried stamping on the wooden words - and although it worked well, it wasn't a good design for the writing.  A smaller image would work well though!  So, I ended up inking the words - which is a nice way of changing things up to create an assortment of cards.

I used one of the stamps from a previous Paper Pumpkin - stamped in versa mark and embossed in gold. The little people are also left overs from a previous pumpkin.  Gotta love all the little extras you get with Paper Pumpkins.

This time I used the card front as a matt - tore it and attached it to a second matt.  The flowers are from the " Petite Petals" set and the centres of the flowers are done with Tombow Glue and gold glitter.

Hope there something shiny in your day today.
Thanks for stopping by.

hi!

Created this for the Friday Mashup and the Paper Players challenges this week.  The Mashup up is to use spring colours or a spring theme, and the Scattered Embossing Technique.  You can find a video on this technique - HERE.  The Paper Players are looking for three of something.

My head's not quite in the game today - My lid of my piano at school decided to attack me and I'm still feeling a bit wonky.  Of course - I'm wonky most of the time - but I'm going to leave you without the instructions for this one today.
I will be doing this card at my class on Monday for team and club members.

Hope your week is off to a good start - gotta love the weather here!
Thanks for stopping by,
Joan

First Pair of Shades

Tara has a great sketch for us today at MDS Monday - a great way to feature DSP.  There isn't an additional challenge today - so it's an opportunity to reuse some of the features we've used recently.  I've recoloured my DSP and the little sunglasses….the large pair I've picked the colour from the ones that Elliot is wearing.  His hands are being held so that he didn't take the glasses off .

Here's the sketch….have fun.  Be sure you link your project back to the challenge blog - and be sure to check out the fabulous work by the rest of the Design Team.

Elephant Trio

We're being subtle this time round over at Sunday Stamps - and I love how the Tempting Turquoise is included in the mix….Tempting Turquoise, Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate and White.  There's a fair bit of fussy cutting on this one - but it's all good.
Check out the challenge blog for inspiration - there's a wide variety of awesome projects!
Hope you have a great day -
Joan

You're Peachy Keen!

Just a quick post before I head to do some chores today.  I picked the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments today.
It took me a while to get these On Film Framelits - but I'm glad I did.

Off I go - Hope your Mid Week is off to a great start!  Thanks for stopping by.
