Yesterday's Sketch

Here are two cards using yesterday's Sketch Challenge (shown in the thumbnail)

For the snow card I used the Night of Navy Craft ink sealed with clear embossing powder. For short spaces it's easy to use the ink pad with the rollers!!! I used a small piece from the Ski Slope Designer paper and dabbed around the edges of the snowflakes with the Baya Breeze. (Seems an odd name for a colour to use on a "snow" card!)

The second card uses up the last bits of the Flower Power Card Elements Kit.

I'm hoping to delve into some Christmas decorations this afternoon....if I don't delve into a book instead....LOL. I really can't go from sitting to sitting some more!!!!

Hope you have a great day - Thanks for visiting. JOAN

Sitting in the Leaves

Well, we have certainly moved into a different colour scheme! Today's Colour Challenge was - Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Pixie Pink. It was awfully hard fitting the pink in while my mind was thinking about fall leaves.

I embossed the leaves in gold onto velum cardstock and used the blender pen to colour them in.

This card also uses last weeks Sketch Challenge.

Have a pleasant evening! JOAN

Three More

Here are three more creations from the "left overs" from the Flower Power Card Elements Kit.
I used a Sketch Challenge and a Ways to Use It challenge for this first card. The "Ways to Use It" required that a quote of some sort be used on the card. I also used the Big Shot to punch out the flower - I have a bunch of extras punched that I'll have to use up on the remaining cards.

I cut one of the die-cut stickers in half and snipped out the centre for this Thank You card....just for something different to do. I love
this funky little flower shape.

The Hi card is based on this past Weekend Sketch Challenge from Beate.

I may venture away from these papers this afternoon and try today's colour challenge....or just finish up with the scraps. Who knows! I'm a wee bit weary having gone to physio at 7:30 this morning - but I gained another 6 degrees of flex in my knee so that's good. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. JOAN

Flower Power

Good Monday Morning:
Here are some of the cards I created on Saturday. I took out my "Flower Power Card Elements" Kit that I had purchased a while ago - Dutifully I created the three cards that were designed for the kit. Then I decided to use the rest of the materials to make original creations. However, I decided that for each coloured card base, I would have to limit myself to the adhesive die cuts that were used for the original card.

So, here are the other two cards that I created using the Old Olive base. And....wait for it....I finally completed some challenges with these cards. I haven't done a challenge in soooooooo long!!!!!

The Celebrate card is the Sketch Challenge from October 22. It also incorporates the Ways to Use It Challenge by having only one word on the card. I used
my Big Shot and the Naturally Serif die to get the letters for the word.

The Thank You card is the Sketch Challenge from September 16. I liked how I could split up the different pieces of designer paper to make the various sections.

I'll get into the stamping room this afternoon to finish up some more. I had a pretty good weekend.....had a visit from the girls from work - Including Amy! It was good to sit and chat. My daughter and I went to a purse party yesterday, had a great time and spent too much money. But
my husband did tell us to buy something ( I believe his exact words to Allison were "make sure Mom buys a purse") and to have fun. So - we did!

I hope you are all having a wonderful beginning to the final week of October. Happy Stampin' JOAN

Final Two

Here are the last two projects from Regionals....

It was funny to see three tables full of Big Shots lined up for people to use in order to make this little basket. Talk about your mass production!

The portion of the scrapbook page which was ACTUALLY from Regionals is the smaller Pacific Point section with the "Snow" word. Since I'm in the process of making scrapbooks for the kids I decided I might as well turn that small page into a 12x12 right away; so I dug out some pictures of Grant in snow from 1992. I then used the Big Shot to punch out snowflakes. I'm actually happy with the way it came together. Grant's snowsuit was red and blue so the red strip they included
worked out.

Tomorrow I will hopefully get to something new and original...I have physio though and was wiped out by it yesterday, so we'll see.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you're not getting blown away by the wind!!!!

More From Regionals

Here are three more projects from Regionals this past weekend. (I only have two more to complete)

The little note card set was cute....the "folder" is very simple and the envelopes fit on one side and the notes on the other. I liked adding the little piece of designer paper to the inside flap of the envelopes - kicks them up a knotch!

The ribbon flower was simple! We used the star from the Scandinavian Season set - stamped onto the back of the paper; used a hole punch at the central and outer points of the star and then used
the ribbon to sew up and down. I added an extra layer since I was doing mine at home. The original card had only the designer paper as the front of the card. They also used a different sentiment.

Last for the day is a little gift packet. Simply folded and it's supposed to be closed with dimensionals. Because I'm not using it yet I added a bit of ribbon to a tiny clip. I liked how we used the versa mark with the roller along the bottom of the package and then coloured in sections with the versa mark pen. Again, the star was stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with the aquapainter.

I now have my cards for the Christmas Card Camp posted on our website. Once I get the last two Regional projects finished I can move on to other things.

Hope you're having a great day - Thank you for all the
healing wishes. I'm coming along - getting frustrated at times because I can't move simply, but I'll get stronger!!!

One From Regionals

Here is one of the cards that we completed at Regionals this past weekend. It uses watercolour paper using the ink pad and the aqua painter to colour it.

It was fun at Regionals and to see Shelli and some of the people from head office in our little part of the world. A bit uncomfortable sitting for me at times, but we had a good time.

There will be more to come as they get completed. Thanks for dropping by.

My Own Limited Supply Challenge.....

Well, I've finally done some stamping, but there's a story here.....The night I had my knee replacement surgery Amy was doing our monthly workshop by herself. I'd cut everything ready for her for the two cards I'd designed. When she came to visit once I got home she dutifully dropped of my box with the left over supplies (yeah, I always cut extra!) And of course no one in the house has taken it to my basement stamping room yet....so today I thought I could handle sitting at the diningroom table putting together the extras of one of the designs.
Well....if you've been visiting the blog you can scroll down and see the original card. There was no way I wanted to put together so many extras of that design using the word window punch.
So, I decided to give myself my own personal limited supply challenge. The paper was already cut, I had two inks available, three punches and some dimensionals. I'd already stamped the card base and the sentiment before deciding to change the layout a bit. I was lucky that I didn't run out of adhesive!!!! I can't just run downstairs to grab stuff on a whim right now.

So, that set of cards is done. I now have the challenge of using up the extra pieces of the second design. I won't be doing that tomorrow though because I'm going to the Edmonton Regionals! Can't wait!!!!!!

Can't promise I'll be here everyday - but I'll post when I can. Thanks for dropping by!

Last - for a while

I'm not sure that I will have a chance to add another post before Friday - At which point I'm heading to the hospital for my knee replacement and probably won't be back in front of my computer for a while.....or at the stamping table for that matter I guess. I'll have to rig up something to prop my leg up onto under the table. LOL

Anyway - I'm heading to a team meeting tonight where we're swapping cards made with the sets from convention AND a card using the sketch from the card shown on page 91 in the catalogue. We're wanting to show how the ideas in our catalogue can be used with any stamp set....so the "So Kind" creation is my case. I used the priceless stamp set and the new Ski Slope Designer Paper.

The second is a creation I'm not totally thrilled with. I had to use the Ronald MacDonald House Set - "Say it with Scallops. I do like the set, but just had a hard time coming
up with an idea for this card. I guess it would have been easier if I had the stamp set that matched the "hi".

We are back into "summer" mode here in central Alberta and I for one am loving it. Hope all of you are having a fantastic day - I'll try not to stay away too long.
